Going on a hike in Prague? We’d love to take you on one – on a 28-kilometer journey from east to west, we’ll see several amazing places, taste the best cakes, get energized with delicious coffee and even visit a master chef!

It’s ideal to set off right at sunrise, similar to when you decide to go on a Prague – Prčice march. By the way, we filmed a report for you from that too, check it out: https://youtu.be/hpLRV22UkC0?si=CsNU_XHvIfVmGJrL

Starting at the Lookout Tower
We start our journey at the Doubravka Lookout Tower, which you can find a short distance from Černý Most and was designed by architect Martin Rajniš. There are 98 very original steps leading up to it, and at the top of the lookout tower, at a height of 23.5 meters, you can not only admire the view, but also the banner.

Along the Rokytka River
The Rokytka River and its surroundings will accompany us for a significant part of the journey. We will pass the Kyjský Pond, which is said to be full of fish and where you can swim in the summer.
Just don't look for willows for pomlázka here, you will have to go elsewhere for Easter. Where, we will reveal in the video: https://youtu.be/4CQGY4AZysA?si=4t7NXDSkJPHreobC
We continue around the Rokytka River and can admire its magical meander, which stands out especially in the summer. In addition, there are many walnut groves where you can pick walnuts in the fall.
Did you know that there are a number of public orchards in Prague? See for yourself: https://youtu.be/XT5bZXhoZL0?si=PgektWfr7NDAGfeZ

From wine to coffee
We continue through the new development in Vysočany to the Podviní park with a wooden gazebo and one of Prague's vineyards called Máchalka, where they hold a grape harvest every autumn.
But we head to Palmovka to Ema Café, where they bake amazing cakes and buns and also brew great coffee. We are about halfway through, so it's high time for a snack.

In the company of the Vltava
We said goodbye to the Rokytka when it flowed into the Vltava, and we continue across the Libeň Bridge, which is currently undergoing reconstruction. If you are interested in what it will look like, watch the video we dedicated to the “Prague Bridge Revolution”: https://youtu.be/M9_4BPMjNEA?si=wg5acY0AweEXmoi2
We arrived through Holešovice to the most beautiful park in Prague, Stromovka.
By the way, Holešovice is one of the fastest changing neighborhoods in Prague. If you want to learn more, don’t miss the video: https://youtu.be/Dw4jXhpt0-c?si=v4rY-wDD_8-tl61h

The home of billionaires and good food
And we are on Hanspaulka, where you can find some of the most beautiful villas in Prague. And also the homes of a number of Czech billionaires. By the way, we also made a video about this interesting neighborhood: https://youtu.be/7uwOKnxnO7A?si=QJb4Zdsmq-HtPQey
But today we are interested in the renowned restaurant U Matěje, run by chef Jan Punčochář, known from the Masterchef show.

To the finish
One of the most beautiful parts of the walk is also the last one. We will go around the Šárecký stream through the local magical valley. If you would like to learn more about Divoká Šárka, we recommend watching our recent video: https://youtu.be/1eWj1WfRLxE?si=MrIRDemI0eRHbMsk
After almost 30 kilometers and 9 hours of walking, we have reached our destination.
