Yesterday, the TESLA 2024 Results earnings call took place, until 2:00 in the morning. Fascinating how the company is keeping track of their promises and forecasts!
One of the main subjects (of course!) is the evolution of FSD towards unsupervised version. A lot was explained about this. I share with you mainly what Elon explained in relation to introducing FSD in Europe.

My UNECE Calendar 2025
This is what I'm watching out for at the UNECE for each month in 2025.
The main item is the DCAS regulation 01 series amendments entry into force in September which allows for SIM on highways.
That's a prerequisite to getting FSD Supervised on highways out perhaps sometime in Q4 2025. I'm really hoping it's the last hurdle we have left. As ever we will have to wait and see.
The ADS regulation documents should have been completed by the end of the year.
This regulation will govern software like FSD Unsupervised which will require no human oversight. That software is expected to be available later this year.
The ADAS task force is planning a temporary pause for approximately 12 months, so there will be no further meetings this year.

*The UNECE organization in Geneva is not the most important party determining if Tesla's FSD will be allowed on EU roads!*
This is a common misunderstanding: UNECE is only preparing the technical & legal rules, based on what politicians decide. There are more influencial forces, close to the European politicians, like CCAM.

As soon as the Tesla RoboTaxi network is started in both CA and TX (Surely in 2025!), several legacy car makers will beg Tesla to licence FSD unsupervised. Otherwise nobody (except Elon haters ;-) will want to buy their cars anymore...
From that moment, the EU politicians will scramble to not stay behind, especially if also China allows it… Through the CCAM organisation, the political agenda will be putting pressure on all EU member states to prepare a simple regulation for Fully Autonomous Vehicles. Forget about the regulations about ADAS in Europe! FSD is not an ADAS system but an ADS. (Look up these terms on Google or any AI LLM bot...)
