Full Diet Plan for Fast Paralysis Recovery | Food for Paralysis Treatment | SRIAAS

Today, in this video, Dr. Pragti Gupta will be talking about the importance of diet in paralysis.

A problem with the nervous system causes paralysis. The nervous system is your body’s command and communication system. It sends signals from the brain throughout your body, telling it what to do. If something damages the nervous system, messages can’t get through to the muscles.

One of the most common disabilities resulting from stroke is paralysis or the inability of muscles or group muscles to move. The movement of the muscles is triggered by the messages sent from the brain, which controls it.

There are two types of stroke:

a) Ischemic stroke: When a blood clot prevents blood flow to the brain, it causes an ischemic stroke. A blood clot is often the result of the accumulation of fat deposits on the inside of a blood vessel called atherosclerosis

b) A hemorrhagic stroke happens when a blood vessel bursts or ruptures inside the brain and covers the brain tissues with blood.
Neuroplasticity is how you can recover lost skills and regain independence after a stroke. It’s activated by experience and practice, so your therapists ask you to do many repetitions of rehab exercises.

Your nutritional needs vary greatly depending on your level of injury, but everyone can benefit from understanding what they should be eating to maintain a healthy lifestyle and optimal weight.

Diet for paralysis patient
1) Fruits and vegetables: It’s no surprise that fruits and vegetables, a smart dietary choice for controlling weight and keeping your heart in good shape, can also help prevent a stroke. They’re naturally low in fat and calories but rich in fiber, which allows you to feel full.

2) Fish: Salmon, albacore tuna, trout, and mackerel are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which help keep your blood pressure and cholesterol in check.

3) Whole grains: On your next grocery trip, reach for whole-grain bread instead of refined white bread.

4) Low-fat dairy: Cheese, milk, yogurt, and other dairy products deliver calcium, protein, vitamin D, and potassium. But full-fat dairy products also contain saturated fat and cholesterol, increasing your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Foods to be taken:
- Vitamin B complex like niacin and vitamin B12 containing food articles
- Fatty acids containing foods such as bananas, beans, lentils, nutritional yeast, potatoes, pumpkin seed oil, walnut, oranges, green vegetables, and low-fat milk
Foods to be avoided
- Small and frequent meals and reduce the meal size
- Fatty foods
- Salty, spicy

Do not forget the medication and exercise. If you still have any queries, book your free consultation today with one of our experts.
