On October 17, 2019, Vint Cerf, Steve Crocker, and Radia Perlman spoke at The George Washington University about the experiences that helped them create one of the most revolutionary inventions in human history. Discussion topics included how the Internet grew the way it did, the effects of commercialization, and the tensions arising today from pervasive Internet use.
Moderating the conversation was GWU professor and diversity in STEM advocate Rachelle Heller. Professor Heller’s has extensive experience with interactive media in education and championing women in STEM.
This event is part of the NSTMF’s Science Unscripted program. Through the SU program, the Foundation is building an inclusive coalition of inspired STEM students. By highlighting voices often left unheard in the STEM community, we show audiences that there is no “right” way to be a trailblazer in science and technology. www.nationalmedals.org.
