Full width Teak Platform Installation on a old bow rider

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This video is how I purchased a full width, full teak platform, formally from a small cabin cruiser. I cut this down to fit on my 1984 Four Winns 170 bow rider. My boat orginally had a small 28-30" width swim platform that would always be under water when I would be at anchor AND when I would be at the back of the boat. There was never a way to just sit on the back because of a teak railing around the rear perimeter of the boat. I have been wanting to install a full width swim platform for 7++ years but a fiberglass platform would have to be custom made do to the the age of the boat. That's big $$$ for a boat only worth a couple thousand bucks. While looking for a windshield for another boat in my yard, I saw the boat salvage yard had a dozen or more full width teak platforms leaning up against a fence. I managed to find one with the width and depth I wanted with support hardware and it would be simple to convert it to fit my old boat. So here is the work and install.
The new boarding ladder will be installed under the platform and it will be a 4 step ladder made of stainless steel. I have found one on the Overton web site.
