In this video, I present my fully automated 3D-printed needle loom - an innovative project that impressively demonstrates the possibilities of modern 3D printing technology. The needle loom is largely built from 3D-printed parts and supplemented with inexpensive standard parts that you can easily buy on Amazon, for example.
Hundreds of hours of research, design, 3D printing and testing were required to develop this prototype. Designing a machine like this requires a high degree of problem-solving potential. All the pivot points must be precisely coordinated, as must the speeds of the rotating shafts. The real art lies in finding the right geometry of the individual components in order to achieve a harmonious interplay of the mechanics.
Despite its high degree of automation, there are still minor optimization possibilities, especially in terms of stability.
In this video, I show you step by step how to build the loom yourself. The instructions are based on the digital files that I offer for download. This project is perfect for anyone who wants to take on a complex but exciting challenge!
