I learned a lot more about Blenko glass that I didn't know while doing this video. This amazing company has a rich history and they're still making beautiful handcrafted glass in their time honored traditional ways.
William H. Blenko was born in 1854 in England and became a glass craftsman at a young age. At the age of 38 came to New York City and then to Indiana. Success was slow as it was several years before he finally settled in Milton, West Virginia many years later.
Blenko remains a family owned business with his great-grandson Dr John W Blenko now at the helm. Much more of this company's history is available at https://blenko.com
Blenko's website also has their archived catalogs dating back to 1953 all the way to 2020. https://blenko.com/pages/blenko-catalogs
You can also book a factory tour! Woo hoo! Their tours are closed until Spring 2023 but it's definitely on my bucket list! https://blenko.com/pages/factory-tours
Please leave comments with questions or suggestions. I read and reply to every single one.
