Gopal is getting very late to come to the court, so Montri puts bad words in the king's head so that, Gopal gets scolded. But, Gopal tells the king that he was fishing and has caught a fish. Montri tries to prove him a liar when Gopal presents the king with a big rohu fish with many eggs inside. The king gets very delighted with Gopal's act of selflessness, while the Montri fails to get Gopal scolded.

Such was the genius of Gopal that the King considered him a Navaratna of his court. His statue can still be seen in the palace of Raja Krishnachandra. Stories about his exploits are narrated in Bengal to this day and are immortalized in countless short stories. The stories are short, beautiful, humorous, and have a specific social message. Gopal Bhar is famous for stories of his wisdom, in which he outwits other fellow courtiers.
