This video excerpt from Part 4 of Garry Kasparov's "My Story" DVD series analyzes one of Kasparov's best games, played in 1983 against renown theoretician GM Lajos Portisch. Kasparov began by utilizing his preferred Petrosian Variation against Portisch's Queen's Indian Defense, springing a novelty idea with 15. c4!? where white's pawns will be potentially weak in the long-term but dynamically mobile in the short-term. Kasparov capitalizes on the initiative with very forceful play, commencing extreme complications with 17. d5!? and launching an amazing attack with a double bishop sacrifice on 19. Bxh7+!! and 21. Bxg7!! - completely devastating black's kingside. Portisch defended well, however Kasparov went on to create dangerous mating nets which culminated in the decisive check on 35. Qb3+!
