I recently bit the bullet and paid for the VCV module that lets you bring in VST's to VCV Rack. Gotta say, it was definitely $30 well spent (the cost of a passive mult for my hardware eurorack!). All sampled instruments used are from the @spitfireaudiollp Labs series. I can't recommend their free (and paid) libraries enough.
I wanted to explore using sampled sounds with generative modular triggering and sequencing - and this is the first patch I came up with. I'm still working on ways to bring very slow modulation over time to things like the cello sequence. I'll eventually put everything up to a VCA and slowly modulate the volumes as well over long periods to get interesting mixes of all the different tracks instead of manually like I did for this short test.
