Today just one pub, an ancient hostelry, tavern and now chophouse in the City of London: The George and Vulture.
I take a look at the exterior and the interior of the pub (if we can call it a pub in its current guise) and then discuss its history. From surprisingly early beginnings - a mention of it as simply the George as early as 1598 - through associations with The Beefsteak Club, The Hellfire Club and of course Charles Dickens, who frequently mentions the pub in The Pickwick Papers. Then finally some notes on the beer offering etc.
