On 15 June 1995, ITN was given an exclusive invite to the launch party of Gianni Versace's new book, Men Without Ties, held at Versace store in London. At the top of the guest list were Versace's close friend and global superstar Elton John, fellow pop icon George Michael, and supermodel Naomi Campbell. John gave an interview to ITN about his love of Gianni Versace's clothes as well as the man himself. The fashion icon would be murdered two years later outside his Miami Beach mansion.
Following his win at the 2024 Emmy Awards, Elton John has become an EGOT, the renowned musician being the 19th person to be recognised with an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.
