In this pastel painting tutorial, I"m excited to share my favorite underpainting technique! Not only is this easy but the results seem to make landscape paintings glow with gorgeous color. I believe this easy technique will help take your paintings from ordinary to extraordinary!
An underpainting is a wonderful way to lay a foundation for your painting giving it color energy as it interacts with your other color choices. Its subtle influences often breath life and beauty into your work.
Not only will you learn about this glowing underpainting technique, but you'll have the opportunity to witness this technique in action.
I decided to create create a series of 4 floral paintings using this same underpainting technique (5" x 5" each). In this first tutorial, my patrons will see real time footage with full commentary.
I believe this tutorial will be great for beginner pastel artists as I give thorough descriptions of my process and painting techniques.
