Have you ever run out of fabric you need to finish your quilt? Or maybe have some special fabric you want to maximize use of? What if you don’t have enough blocks to make the quilt the size and shape you want? And how do you avoid orphan block leftovers?
The quilts in this video were finished using various techniques to “stretch” the fabrics and make do with what was in my stash.
When you run out of background fabric, mix it up with other similar fabrics. And use those leftover bits and pieces to make an interesting back.
Or add another big block into the center of your quilt to add interest and stretch those charm packs!
Supplement your jelly rolls with strips from your stash or cut big and small strips to make more out of your novelty prints.

This video shows how I put the binding on the jelly roll quilt using a serger and fusible thread.

I use Accuquilt to cut any pieces I can for my quilts. My favorite die is the 2-1/2” strip die to make my own jelly rolls from yardage!
