Getting Started with HFSS: A Complete Cavity Resonator Example

A resonant cavity with coaxial inputs is set up using the HFSS solid modeler (Ansys 2021 R2) and simulated using a fast frequency sweep to find the frequency, dissipated power, and Q of the fundamental resonance. Electric field and magnetic field plotting is demonstrated as well. I will also show you physical parts so that you can better visualize the solid model. This is a training video for students working in the Hope College Microwave Lab. I have been an HFSS user for over a quarter century and am constantly looking for ways to use HFSS better.
