After the II World War, the Polish population living in the eastern borders of the II Republic of Poland was resettled to Silesia. The first transports arrived in the Prudnik Land in June 1945, mainly from the areas of Tarnopol, Stanisławów and Lviv. In the summer of 1945, elements collided in Prudnik: native German, immigrant Polish and Russian. Dramatic events took place and a ghetto was created for the German population. The Germans were forced to leave their homes. Poles arriving in foreign lands, deprived of their property and cut off from their roots, had to build a new reality. However, both were convinced that after a few years they would return to the lands they now had to leave.
