Welcome to our first time watching Ghost with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
First time for both of us - what a rollercoaster!
We went into this knowing a little about it such as the pottery scene and the 'ditto', but without context. And wow - to see a film like this in a focused environment and properly understand its quality. The script is a meticulously crafted romance thriller, hitting all the beats. Its structure plays with expectations and information; sometimes surprising and unexpected and sometimes giving the right amount of headspace to predict and have hope. It would have been easy for a director to mess this up with the complex changing tones, but Jerry Zucker handles it with expert precision. We loved this. And you can quote us... or just say ditto to the above!
Ghost is a 1990 American supernatural romance film directed by Jerry Zucker, written by Bruce Joel Rubin, and starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Tony Goldwyn, Vincent Schiavelli, and Rick Aviles. It focuses on Sam Wheat (Swayze), a murdered banker, whose ghost sets out to save his girlfriend, Molly Jensen (Moore), from the person who killed him – through the help of the psychic Oda Mae Brown (Goldberg).
