This is an experiment. This story is taken from my book: Cumbrian Ghost Stories and was a favourite at our live reading events. Once, a woman asked why I didn't tell it as a story as she thought that would be a better experience for the audience than merely reading it out.
I have started doing a distance course teaching me how to be a bard. Part of that is the art of storytelling. This is my first attempt at memorising the story and telling it to an audience.
