Humanity stands on the brink of a significant historical shift as it enters the age of depopulation. For the first time since the Black Death in the 1300s, a global population decline is anticipated, driven not by disease but by falling birthrates resulting from personal choices and societal changes. Since the 1960s, global fertility rates have halved, with many countries now below replacement levels. East Asian nations, particularly Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan, are already facing significant depopulation. Even regions traditionally associated with higher birthrates, like North Africa and the Middle East, are experiencing declines. Iran has been sub-replacement for about 25 years, with Turkey and Tunisia showing similar trends. What is the reason for this? How can we stop the process? Will humanity suffer the same fate as the dinosaurs?
