Glue Basting with our MicroFine Glue Tips is an amazingly helpful way to keep your fabrics and blocks aligned when your sewing. It's also fantastic for applique, zippers, and binding. Having the right tools for the right job is so important.
Recently, I discovered that some of the Elmer's Washable School Glue bottles, that I have been recommending for over 10 years, don't fit with our MicroFine Glue Tips. You can imagine the horror I felt when I figured it out. My only thought was working to figure out a solution to help all of you.
Here's the Issue:
The diameter of the neck of some Elmer's Washable School Glue bottles is narrower than others. These don't allow the glue tip to tighten - it just spins around and won't catch the threads of the neck. There are other bottles that will work for the glue tips.
Here's the Solution:
The good bottles that will work with the glue tips have the label on the back printed in blue ink. When you're shopping for glue, use these bottles. If you can't find them locally to you, I will always have them available here:

The bottles with the label on the back printed in black won't fit with the glue tips.
Interesting side note: Because of the difference in diameter, the toppers that come with the bottle are not interchangeable.
There are older bottles that have the label on the back printed in black that to fit the glue tips. This is a recent issue as of August 2018.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!!
