What's in This Video
Today, I flip through one of my favorite junk journals, an altered vintage children’s book. I’m adding magazine images, some old, some new, across different pages to build my collage spreads.
You’ll see how I work in a glue book with no set theme, how I group images by color or mood, and how I balance old magazine clippings with newer ones.
About the Gluebook
This journal is a vintage hardcover children’s book that I turned into a gluebook. I removed some pages to make space, and now it’s home to random collage spreads made from found paper, magazine clippings, and other paper ephemera. It’s not about perfect pages, just about process.
Try This Yourself
If you’re new to gluebooking, try using an old book and some magazine images to start. Don’t overthink your layout, see what you’re drawn to, and start from there. It’s all about enjoying the act of gluing and playing with paper.
Your Turn
Do you ever work in a gluebook with no plan? Or do you prefer themed spreads? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear how you approach your own collage sessions.
