General Motors has built some of the most legendary cars in history, but did you know they also experimented with some of the craziest concept cars ever made? The Chevrolet Astro I, Astro II, and Astro III were futuristic, ahead of their time, and absolutely insane—but GM never put them into production.

The Astro I was a low-slung, rear-engine Corvette doppelgänger with a pop-up canopy straight out of a sci-fi movie. The Astro II was GM’s first real shot at a mid-engine Corvette, packing a 400-horsepower V8 that could’ve changed everything. And then there’s the Astro III—a three-wheeled, jet-powered spaceship with joystick controls and a helicopter engine. Yes, really.

So, why did GM build these mind-blowing prototypes only to hide them away? Why were they too radical for production? And what if one of them had actually made it to the streets? Buckle up as we dive into GM’s most secretive, futuristic, and downright ridiculous concept cars!
