Since day 1 of starting this series, I have had people tell me to go to Golden Mile Food Centre for good hokkien mee. And we are finally here!
Both plates were absolutely delicious.
Hainan Fried Hokkien Mee was more rustic. It had a flavor profile more typical of what you would expect out of Hokkien Mee.
While You Fu Hokkien Mee was perhaps a bit more inventive. I thought it tasted more like a seafood beehoon rather than a typical hokkien mee.
So, if you're looking for something true to tradition, go for Hainan. And if you want something a little different, perhaps a different take on the dish, You Fu would be a good bet.
