It is still hot in the middle of late summer in Uchiura, Noto Peninsula. However, the sea seems to be changing toward the autumn. I dared to film the underwater video of the fishing method called "Drop-in fishing" this time. The technique is called "tokonomi-fishing". The first thing to do is to bite a small fish with a hook of a subiki hook and drop it into a predator's layer. This technique is only possible when there is a large bait layer, but when you get hooked on it, it can produce tremendous results. You can catch bluefish near the bait layer and root fish near the bottom. The first thing to do is to fish for small fish in front of the bank. If there is no bait, we'll fish for flounder and pike, in case we have to do some swim fishing. Then we head to the point. When I arrived at the point, I checked the fish finder and saw lots of bait response. It looks like I could do some drop-in fishing. I set the bait and threw it into the water. The bait seemed to be a sardine. I waited for the bait to hook on to a layer of sardines. When I sank the hooked fish, a mahata appeared. After that, I latched on to sardines several times, and waited for a school of bluefish! The bluefish find the sardines and chase them furiously! And I'm going to drink the sardines whole! I'm biting! The powerful pull of the bluefish comes through the rod! We reeled in the water a little at a time. Finally, I reeled in near the surface. The bluefish was a yellowtail, the size of a Japanese sea bass. In Hokuriku area, it's called "yellowfin tuna". The size of the yellowfin tuna was 53 cm. I caught one, so I wanted to keep on catching them. I dropped the rigging again. I sank the sardine to the bottom of the sea and found a fish that attacked it. It was a Umazura hagiography. The hook was rattling, but I didn't notice it and it came off before I knew it. After a while, I caught a few more sardines. Next, I reeled in a school of bluefish.
