Minister of Information and government spokesperson Michael Makuei addressed journalists on Monday during a press conference, following a series of airstrikes over the weekend that continued into Monday in Nasir County, Upper Nile State.
“Ugandan People's Defense Forces is at present here in Juba, and you have seen it. It is present here in Juba because the government of South Sudan and the government of Uganda have a military pact that was signed since the time of the LRA,” said Makuei.
The South Sudanese government requested Uganda's military intervention amid escalating tensions following deadly clashes in Nasir between government forces and the White Army militia.
