Following on from their 'Winter Steam Gala', the Great Central Railway would retain the pair of visiting locomotives, fronting the pair on their standard timetable for a further weekend. Emerging from their Horwich works in 1896, Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Class 27 - 52322 would feature from the East Lancashire Railway, representing a veteran of the Victorian age. At the other end of the steam scale, 75069 would rub shoulders with 52322. Long time resident of the Severn Valley Railway in its preservation career, 75069 was built 60 years later than the L&Y survivor, emerging from Swindon works in 1955. While the steam pair worked the passenger services, a pair of diesels could also be spotted out on the line. 37714 "Cardiff Canton" would be working crew training turns, while 50017 "Royal Oak" handled a post-gala empty coaching stock move.
