Although I’ve previously watched the KP index, the guide said they paid particular attention to the Solar Wind Speed(SWS) and the Interplanetary Magnetic Field(IMF) readings and in their experience if both these readings were in the red then there was a very good chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights http://tinyurl.com/85u9d8p7 Hopefully this has been of use 👍🏻 .
