Today in our "Vegan picnic" rubric we cook seitan shaslik (or shish kebab or whatever you call food grilled on skewers).

We need:
For seitan:
Gluten (wheat protein) - 400 ml
Chickpea flour - 4 tbsp
Vegetable stock - 400 ml
Tomato paste - 2 tbsp
Paprika
Coriander
Salt
+ stock in which we will boil the seitan
For marinade:
Tomato paste - 1 tbsp
Soy sauce - 2-3 tbsp (or more if the stock was not salted)
Wine vinegar - 2 tbsp
Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp
Garlic - 1 pc.
Smoked paprika (or ordinary)
Hot sauce (or red pepper)
Sweetener (optional)
Seitan can be made from plain wheat flour if you wash away all of the starch leaving only the protein. If you don't know about this possibility, check the internet, there is plenty of information on the subject. We find this way to be too resource consuming while working with ready gluten makes it so much easier.
