Growin' Up in a Small Town: Friday Nights Together, a documentary on integration in the South through the perspective of a small town high school and its football team, came to be through former Williston Elko football player Chris Rivers, who found old football film that was going to be thrown out and decided there was a story to be told with it. With the help of Susan Starnes Jones and Mark Starnes, they contacted alumni of the team and interviewed them. They then handed over the footage to Michael Cote to help piece it together into what is now a full length documentary.
