In this experiment I fruited 30 lions mane mushroom blocks in a grow tent without turning on the humidity system, exhaust system, temperature control or lights.
The temperature outside was around 40F at night and 65-F during the day. The building the grow tent was in also had no temperature controls. It is a stone factory building that feels like a cave.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well the lions mane grew in these conditions, I suspected a little deformity but the fruits look absolutely perfect. I sliced the blocks on October 15th and harvested the mushrooms on November 11th.
Another important note I want to add is that these fruiting blocks were made from grain to grain transfer propagation technique. I used one 3lb bag of colonized grain to inoculate 12 new bags of sterilized grain and then I used most of that grain spawn to inoculate all those blocks. The mycelium obviously had no problem with this expansion which is impressive.
