We left Lake Toya and headed to Hakodate. We are staying at La Vista Hakodate Bay Annex. At sunset, we took the Mount Hakodate Ropeway to enjoy the city’s famed night view—a glittering panorama between sea and mountains. At the summit, we sipped drinks at Restaurant Genova, soaking in the breathtaking scene. Dinner at IzakayaKaikoubo was a seafood delight. We had a big Taraba crab. This was followed by a comforting bowl of ramen at Yondaime Ramen for supper.
The next morning, we explored the Hakodate Factory Area, visiting the charming Hakodate-Meijikan and Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse for local crafts and souvenirs. A walk up Hachiman-Zaka Slope rewarded us with stunning bay views and visits to the Hakodate Orthodox Church and Catholic Motomachi Church, rich in history.
