This year, I climbed up to Kurobishi Parking Lot at an altitude of 1,500m on the Hosono Line Forest Road (Kurobishi Forest Road), which opened on July 1st, and enjoyed the view of the Northern Alps. This year, there is less snow than usual, but it is still a spectacular view of the Northern Alps.
Kurobishi Parking Lot, which you can drive to, is 800m above sea level from JR Hakuba Station.
Take a lift from Kurobishi Parking Lot to Kurobishidaira, where you can be soothed by the yellow of the day lilies, and then take another lift to Happoike Sanso, the entrance to the heavenly pond, Happoike. The elevation difference from JR Hakuba Station here is over 1,100m.
Since I am at an altitude of over 1,800m, the view of the Hakuba Mountains to the north and Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashimayari to the south is completely different from the view from the foot of the mountain.
It was a lucky sunny day during the rainy season. If you can't wait for the rainy season to end, check out this video to see the spectacular view. Let's enjoy the view of the Northern Alps again this year.
