It's February in Homer, Alaska--the dead of winter and usually a slow time for fishing--but we hit the water for the halibut opener and made it count! Despite the cold temps and icy conditions, we managed to hook into some halibut, reel in a few surprise winter kings (salmon), and even dropped the pot for some tasty tanner crabs.
This trip had it all: freezing fingers, bent rods, good laughs, and a frozen fishbox full of fresh Alaskan seafood. Come along for the ride as we show you what fishing looks like in the offseason here on the edge of the world.
