Growing ever more concerned about the encroaching railway line, Badger sets off for London to see if he can accomplish anything there. In this absence, the Chief and Henchman disguise themselves as solicitors to the Railway Company, and by their persuasive arguments and Toad’s stupidity, convince Toad to sell the Hall to them.
When all is apparently lost, Badger returns, and with the aid of some stern words – and a stout cudgel – “persuades” the weasels to return the property to it’s rightful owner, and join them in the fight against the railway, as it threatens their home in the Wild Wood as much as anyone else’s.
