This video chronicles the nightmarish repair of a thoroughly botched early 1960's Harmony Model H322 Bass Amp, probably built by Lectrolab. Since it features powerful (7591) fixed-bias output tubes and four (8-inch) speakers, it resembles a "mini" Fender Bassman, but was plagued by yards of tangled added cables, ill-conceived modifications, muddy sound, low volume, and a roaring 60Hz hum. Fixing it was one of the greatest challenges I have faced, and actually required a few months "vacation" from the task to avoid either insanity or retaliation with an axe (not the guitar type) :)
Extra features include the opening of a very special gift from a generous viewer, visits from Jack and K.C., and a really special modification to one of the hot rods. Here is the link to the video discussing the special gift: https://youtu.be/Q7NNVe753do
WARNING: All filter capacitors MUST be fully discharged before working on any circuit. Use only one hand when working on a live circuit. Although I point with a finger from time to time in videos, it is best to always use an insulated pointer, like a chopstick. Please be careful :)
