Are you ready for haunted houses? I have 4 haunted houses today in three different styles: Traditional, Haunted Beach House (Coastal Fall) and Haunted Farmhouse. For the first 2 traditional Halloween haunted houses, I use 4 matching Dollar Tree toy dollhouses. I painted them all black with matte spray paint for plastic. I distressed both haunted houses with ivory and ink chalk paint by Waverly. Such a beautiful texture on the dollhouse. So easy. I attach these haunted houses onto bamboo cutting boards from Dollar Tree. I decorate with Spanish moss, bats, spiders and skulls from Dollar Tree. So spooky and a traditional halloween feel. Up next is my favorite, the Haunted Beach House DIY. I had so much fun putting this Coastal Halloween house together. I paint this style of Dollar tree toy dollhouse in sea glass, I then distress with chalk paint by Waverly in Pool and Agave. I decide to make this beach house a stilts house, using little Jenga blocks from DT, a wood plaque and dollar tree bamboo cutting board. I cover the cutting board foundation with school glue and sand from the Dollar Tree. I use blue pebbles from DT to simulate a little ocean lapping up against our beach house. Then the fun part, decorating for Coastal Halloween. I paint a black flamingo using lip gloss from Dollar Tree. I made a sea monster (giant octopus) out of Model magic from the Dollar Tree, attacking our Haunted Beach House. Then I paint it orange, the color pumpkin chalk paint by Waverly. I decorate the sand with a succulent from DT and a little blue truck that I got at Dollar General for $2. I painted it a prettier color of blue (agave) that matches our beach house, filling the back with DT tiny pumpkins and parking it under our beach house. I decorate the coastal haunted house with a white shell that I painted to look like a ghost, and a black shell that I made into a black shell spider attacking our haunted beach house. Last DIY haunted house project is the Haunted Farmhouse. I used two wood haunted houses from the Dollar Tree. I made it an actual house using 3 rulers from the Dollar Tree. I paint it ivory with black outline, I made a metal roof using supplies from the Dollar Tree. I attach this to a bamboo cutting board covered in burlap. I decorated our farmhouse with mini hay bales from DT, black bats, ivory pumpkins and a jack o lantern, and a rat. A little ghost peeks out of the farm house window. So farmhouse, love the ivory and black halloween feel. Which haunted house was your favorite? Do you love decorating for Halloween?
