Video Not Working? Fix It Now

The HW2036 and HW2036A tranceivers were very popular in the late 1970's .The HW2036 covered 2 mhz of the 2 meter band the lower 2 mhz or upper 2 mhz whichever you selected when you built it .The HW2036A is the improved version with coverage of the full two meter band . The tips shown I have used now for over 40 years with very good results I have received comments on the use of silicon grease on connectors because silicon grease is an insulator yes it is but in the connector it forms a seal keeping moisture out and preventing corrosion which causes intermittent connections you may notice the silicon grease on the connectors in your car it is put there for the same reason . You can buy it at the auto parts stores . Note the one HW2036A has an extra hole in it and the lower left corner of the front was filed out for a different microphone I did not do this these were done by previous owners. I just watched this again and I see where I said I cleaned the IC pins on the IC's on the other side of the board no it is not the other side of the board it is the under side of the rig on the underside board . Note also I have put clear heat shrink tubing on the black wire and resistor that provides 12 volts up to the micoder microphone . Be sure you cut and connect the black wire in the microphone cord to the place where the red wire WAS on the push to talk switch . I forgot to clip and reconnect the black wire on one of my micoders here when I did this the 100 ohm resistor went POOF ! and burned up. Actually that is the reason for the 100 ohm resistor it acts as a fuse . You can use most any value resistor instead of the 100 ohm one anything from 22 ohms to 200 ohms should work ok like I said its used as a very small fuse in this application . 73 Bob
