How to hit a heavy ball in tennis and how can you practice it? This video answers both questions by showing you when to hit a heavy ball and when not to attempt it.
It also includes tennis drills for a heavy ball that you can do on your own as well as drills that you can do with your partner.
In part 1 of the video you'll see Roger Federer hitting a heavy topspin forehand and also a flat forehand when he is returning a first serve. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNPaZj4yn00
It's important to know that you cannot always apply a heavy topspin ball on every incoming ball. The best time to use it is when the incoming ball is slower and it sits up.
In part 2 of the video you'll see a comparison of my usual topspin forehand with a heavy topspin forehand as well as comparison of one-handed backhands hit in the same way.
And in part 3 of the video you'll learn simple tennis drills for working on your heavy topspin ball with forehands and backhands on your own with gradual progressions.
