In this episode I provide the history of the Chevrolet El Camino, a pickup truck based on a wagon car platform. The El Camino was launched in 1959 in response to the similarly styled Ford Ranchero, but sales of the El Camino couldn't keep up, resulting in its cancelation after 1960. However in 1964, Chevrolet reworked their Chevelle wagon platform to become a new El Camino, and sales did much better, resulting in 4 generations that lasted until 1987; 8 more years than the Ranchero.
