In this episode I provide the history of the Plymouth Volaré and Dodge Aspen, Chrysler's F-body twins released for the 1976 model year. Although they did offer a coupe version with some sporty trims, both models were also sold as much less sporty sedans and wagons. Both models today are well known for all the recalls they got in their first model year, due to the development cycle being shortened by at least 6 months, as Chrysler was desperate to get a new model out to help sagging sales. Both cars would ultimately sell over 1.8 million units combined, but the sales drop-off after the recalls forced Chrysler to end them by 1980. Background music by Nick Weiss - nickweissmusic.com
