Heritage Steam Trains were in full force across Victoria! Engines ageing back to the early 1900s feature from both the South Australian Railways and Victorian Railways on both Narrow Gauge and Broad Gauge tracks.
One of Victoria's favourite Branchline railways starts us off at Castlemaine as we follow the morning Victorian Goldfields Railway service hauled by ex 1950's Victorian Railways oil burner engine J549 to Maldon. Later in the afternoon, it's SteamRail time with the Eureka Express back to Melbourne via Geelong with a double-headed train with ex Victorian Railway's engines R711 & K183. The following day we head south onto the Bellarine Peninsula to see the only operating ex-South Australian Railways legendary Narrow Gauge 4-8-0 T Class of T251.
These trains are a not-for-profit and registered charity run only with volunteer help, donations and tickets sold. As a part of chasing and filming these trains, we like to donate to these railways to help keep them going! All donations are tax-deductible over $2 and go towards making rail journeys from the past viable for all to travel! Get behind a railway today and donate.
