⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rosemary is to marry a man her father chose and she and her maid Sarah leave but gets stopped by her future husband on the road. He takes Sarah by accident and she finds herself the bride to be. He takes her to the war front with him but she finds a Scottish Warrior wounded and helps him. He hates the English and she the Scottish. But having to help each other to stay alive will their feelings change? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This one started off a tad confusing for me and seemed liked it should have had a prequel that I had missed. Eventually everything becomes clear as to what is going on, though, and the story makes more sense. A hand maiden finds herself forced to lie about her identity and about to marry a horrible man who seems to think of his future wife as nothing more than a servant. Escaping is the only way she sees out of that situation, where she runs into a Highlander. Once things became clear, the story still kept your attention to see how things were going to turn out. I probably would really give this a 4.5 if I could with the early confusion.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Wow! Barbara Bard has brilliantly woven an enchanting tale around two unlikely lovers from two different worlds, the Scottish highlands and England at a time in history ripe with wars between the English and the Scottish clans. This is the beautiful love story of Sarah and Drew. Barbara constructs such wonderful multi dimensional characters and Drew and Sarah are no exception. Their chemistry is off the charts and their love is sweet and passionate. I was drawn into the story from the start and couldn't put it down until I had turned the very last page. It's an absolute thrill to your senses and emotions. Thank you so much Barbara for such magnificent love story!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh no . . . .who is this man? He is SO cruel. I can’t stand him . . . but I have to marry him! If he knew who I really am . . . it would not be good. Who can save me??
