President Trump visited the Middle East this week, marking the first major foreign trip of his second term. The trip included stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. According to the White House, Trump announced Saudi Arabia’s $600-billion commitment to invest in the United States, building "economic ties that will endure for generations to come." He also delivered remarks at the U.S.-Saudi investment forum in Riyadh. Meantime, the president's visit to Qatar came after he announced plans to accept a luxury jet from the country, sparking ethical concerns. In addition to announcing plans to lift sanctions on Syria, Trump also met with Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa, urging him to establish ties with Israel.
