► ABOUT THIS HIKE
In November 2024, I embarked on a 20-day journey through Nepal, combining the Annapurna Circuit with the Annapurna Base Camp trek. Accompanied by a guide and two porters from Himalayan Glacier, our adventure began with a challenging 12-hour 4x4 jeep ride from Kathmandu to Chame (2,670m / 8,760ft), the starting point of our trek.
From Chame, we followed the Marsyangdi River valley, passing through Pisang (3,200m / 10,498ft) and Manang (3,540m / 11,614ft), where we acclimatized and prepared for a side trip to Tilicho Lake (4,919m / 16,138ft), one of the highest lakes in the world.
Returning to the main trail, we ascended to Yak Kharka (4,050m / 13,287ft) and Thorong Phedi (4,540m / 14,895ft), before crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416m / 17,769ft), the highest point of the trek. Descending into the Mustang region, we reached the sacred town of Muktinath (3,800m / 12,467ft).
From Muktinath, we took a jeep to Ghorepani (2,874m / 9,429ft). Continuing, we trekked through Tadapani (2,630m / 8,629ft) and Chhomrong (2,170m / 7,119ft), eventually reaching Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m / 13,550ft), where we camped beneath Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft), one of the deadliest mountains in the world.
This is an ambient film without dialog.
