The day's victory went to Robin Faustini. He was the fastest on the mountain in the first run on a wet track in the morning and on a drier track in the afternoon. He distanced his direct competitors Christoph Lampert from Austria and Joël Volluz from Valais by 2.5 and 4.4 seconds. This meant that Faustini won the 2024 Swiss Hill Climb Championship for racing cars in front of around 10,000 spectators.
The well-attended Oberhallau hill climb race right on the Swiss border with Germany was overshadowed by a racing accident this year. Not again... but Joël Burgermeister - contrary to initial fears - survived the collision with a tree and then the embankment so well that he was able to report himself from the hospital in Winterthur on the evening of the race day. He is doing well considering the circumstances.
