An event to pay homage to Prof. N. Veezhinathan was held at IIT Madras. Prof. N. Veezhinathan was a pillar of knowledge, a renowned Sanskrit scholar, and a guiding light for his students and all those who knew him. For 33 years (1964-1997), he led the Department of Sanskrit at Madras University, Chennai, India.
His leadership steered the department to new heights and established a strong foundation of academic excellence.
He was closely associated with Kanchi Mutt and Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati, fondly called Maha Periyava by his disciples.
The event was presided over by the Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Shri R. N. Ravi.
