Homemade Chocolate Covered Cherries: Easy Beginner Friendly Recipe - Steph’s Stove

Chocolate Covered Cherries 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 3 cups powdered sugar 1 tablespoon whole milk 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1 - 10 oz jar Maraschino cherries with stems, drained and patted dry 12 oz dark melting chocolate wafers 2 tablespoons coconut oil In a medium bowl combine butter, powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until uniform in color and texture. This will take about 2-3 minutes maximum. Form candy into 1 teaspoon-sized ball. Flatten into palm. Place the cherry (stem up) into a creme disk. Cup hand around the cherry and carefully remove it from the palm. Smooth with fingers and place onto a lined baking sheet. Repeat for remaining creme and cherries until all are covered. Melt chocolate with coconut oil in a double boiler. Do not overheat. Dip cherries into chocolate holding them by stems and place back on a parchment lined baking sheet with stems up. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or until fully set before serving. Enjoy!
