This video is about my homemade wind generator/windmill. The blades on the wind generator are 84 inch in diameter. It will start spinning at wind speeds as low as 2 mph and start generating power at wind speeds of 5 mph. The power is created by a PMA Permanent Magnet Alternator installed in the head of the wind generator. I also have a 100 watt solar panel mounted on the side of the tower. It charges two 12 volt deep cycle batteries that store the electricity produced. I use an inverter to create 120 vac power. The wind generator powers a wifi surveillance camera mounted to the tower. The power is also routed into the house. I use the power created by the wind generator to power my computer, router and modem. I also use it during power failures to run a TV and some lights.
