Suzuka is a god tier circuit. There, I said it. It's amazing fun in the games and the real drivers all seem to love it too.
But it's not just a test track that ended up hosting races, it was always designed to do both at a time when Japan was lagging behind the rest of the world in car and motorbike building and wanted to get the cars at a much higher standard. And in the words of Honda-San himself: You have to develop them at a race track.
