Building of a DIY hot air stirling engine locomotive that I will ride on, around my 5 inch gauge garden railway.
This will be my 5th stirling engine that I've designed and developed and I hope it will be my best yet! Once built, I will fire it up and see if it's the strongest? I will show you how to make it and then start the live, miniature ride on, hot air engine. Soon I will start it up and ride at great speed galore!
This engine will use diaphragms as pistons, the same as the "stirling engine mk4". I believe that this is the most promising way to build an economic, easy to build and practical engine. Sure, they've got their shortcomings, but they offer a very simple design without the need for lubrication. It will run on solid fuel (wood / coal).
I will design the engine so I can produce a kit of parts that should be fairly easy to put together.
I’m always open to suggestions and greatly appreciate any input, good or bad. At the end of the day, I’m just one person in a shed with only my own ideas!
Thank you for watching and see you next time: )
